How to handle them?

Woman’s mood is substantially dependant on hormones, different at every stage of the menstrual cycle. Annoyance, nervousness and mood swings – you know it of course. This is how you feel before every period.

More than 50% of women complain about similar ailments. This happens because a level of serotonins (often called hormones of happiness) falls 7-10 days before period. The doctors call these symptoms a Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).

Just try to manage it. Give yourself an off peak tariff for these days. It is pointless to fight with yourself and in consequence deteriorate your mood even more. You can’t do something well? That’s all right, you shouldn’t worry, you’ll just fix it later. Focus on doing those things that give you pleasure. If you can, try to avoid new, important assignments or business trips. You will make up for it after your period – in the second phase of the menstrual cycle, right after the period, level of estrogens rises. This constitutes a proper burst of energy for you. They will help you execute plans and projects, for which you didn’t have strength and eagerness while having period.

Practicing sport during menstruation is just irreplaceable – physical activity regulates metabolism, lifts up your mood and reduces the pain. Try riding a bike, jogging or exercises.

And if you are one of those lucky women that do not have any aliments – just enjoy your life!
